Professional Background
My name is Tommi Hallila. I have worked in construction and construction logistics since 2016, but my passion lies in IT and graphical design. I'm studying information technology at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences with a focus on business; aiming to combine technical expertise with business understanding. I see myself in the future as a freelancer or specialist operating at the intersection of technology and business.
I've focused particularly on JavaScript, Python, relational databases (SQL), and NoSQL solutions. Data analytics interests me – I understand its significance in modern decision-making and gladly leverage advanced AI solutions for data processing.
I'm a continuous learner, actively seeking new ways to develop myself. I study graphic design and related tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud applications. On uDemy, I've completed courses on web development and design, and KhanAcademy's statistics and probability courses have opened new understanding of data-driven thinking. I believe that deep technical understanding combined with creativity is the future, worth training for.

About me
Music is an important form of expression, relaxation, and energization for me – I play guitar and keyboard a little bit. I unwind in nature and take care of myself through gym training. Technology, especially artificial intelligence, web development, visual design, and cybersecurity, are areas I'm passionate about and continuously invest in.
I’m curious to learn new things and listen extensively to podcasts and audiobooks that both feed and challenge my thinking. Notable influences include Joe Dispenza’s Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself and Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now and A New Earth. Right now I’m actively working to dismantle my own cognitive biases by applying the lessons from Rolf Dobelli’s The Art of Thinking Clearly and by deepening that practice with carefully curated resources I find online. My programming mindset has been enriched by Andrew Hunt and David Thomas’s The Pragmatic Programmer and Lauri Järvilehto’s works on mastery thinking and machine intelligence. Additionally, I’ve delved into Anthony de Mello’s Awareness, which helped me pause and examine my thought patterns in a new way. Recently, I’ve also been inspired by Sam Harris’s Waking Up, which offers a deeply rational yet contemplative perspective on consciousness and spirituality.
Psychological depth, sharp thinking, and emotional strength fascinate me in movies as well – my favorites include Sherlock Holmes and Gladiator, which combine intelligence, determination, and fighting for something meaningful.
I previously practiced Muay Thai and a bit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – perhaps they'll find their place in my life again.
